Now that the weather is getting much much colder and its drawing closer to Christmas, all I really want to do is stay at home wrapped up in my fuzzy blanket and just relax. Here is my current curated list of favorites that I use to combat this cold season (I guess you could call this somewhat of my December dopamine menu too).
Some books in my reread collection are: The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern and Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy by Kevin Kwan (this is the best airplane book and movie and I cannot be convinced otherwise).
During this month, I didn’t have much time to start new books, so here are my November favorites instead (these definitely still fit the cozy reads in my opinion). The Dallergut Dream Department Store by Lee Miye, What you are looking for is in the library by Michiko Aoyama, and 等一朵花开 (to wait for a flower to bloom) by 林帝浣. I feel like these all do give off a perfect blend of transition to colder winter months, most especially The Dallergut Dream Department Store.
Since it is absolutely freezing outside, warm and cozy songs are needed, preferably with a side of hot chocolate, baking, and a warm fireplace.
To start, I have been obsessed with listening to any song by Milena. The soft hints of jazz adds just a perfect amount of cozy vibes during the day. Also any song by Chet Baker, Bruno Major, and Laufey. And of course, christmas music (classic, pop, and jazz). Since December held my finals week, many youtube playlists were listened too. Those were mostly mixes of christmas music or soft jazz lofi. Here is my small, consolidated list.
These are some of my favorite movies to watch when its cold out.
Also not mentioned are the never ending romcoms. As for shows, Gossip Girl has always been on my rewatch list each December. It just gives off the perfect vibes.
